What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you use our marketing website, including our instant design tool, quote and contact forms, and related cookies or third-party map services.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact details - name, email address, telephone number, property address and postcode
- Enquiry details - property type, energy usage answers, notes you provide, and (if you use the design tool) indicative system size, layout choices and ballpark prices
- Technical data - IP address, browser type, pages visited, and basic bot-protection signals (for example form timing or Cloudflare Turnstile tokens when enabled)
- Marketing attribution - UTM parameters if you arrive from a campaign link
Why we use your data (purposes & lawful bases)
- Responding to your enquiry - to contact you about a solar design, quotation or related services (legitimate interests and/or steps prior to a contract; we also ask you to acknowledge contact on the form)
- Providing the design tool - to show satellite imagery, estimate indicative system sizes and prices, and (if you submit) pass those details to our team
- Security and spam prevention - honeypot fields, rate limits, and optional Turnstile checks
- Improving the website - understanding which pages are used (aggregated where possible)
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your enquiry details for unrelated third-party marketing.
Lead forms
When you submit a quote, contact or design request, we use the details you provide to respond about your solar enquiry - typically by phone or email - and to prepare a free desktop design or formal quotation. Indicative prices shown online are ballpark figures only; they are not a final quote.
Cookies, Google Maps and advertising measurement
Our site uses essential cookies/local storage needed for the site to work (for example remembering attribution parameters during your session, and storing your cookie choice).
Non-essential tags - Google Ads (AW-17494049354), Google Analytics 4 (G-HC2E0GW6WV) and Microsoft Clarity (session replay / heatmaps) - do not run with storage granted until you accept optional cookies. A banner on first visit lets you Accept or Reject. Your choice is stored for about six months (cookie and local storage). You can change it using the Cookies link in the footer.
If you reject, we keep Consent Mode set to denied for ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation and analytics storage, and we do not load Clarity. Google tags operate in cookieless Consent Mode without setting advertising or analytics cookies.
If you accept, those tags may set cookies or similar technologies and measure visits. Ads and GA4 record a conversion / generate_lead event only when a design-tool or contact-funnel lead is submitted successfully - not on the indicative price screen.
On the instant design tool, we load Google Maps (satellite imagery and related map services) so you can locate your property and outline your roof. That is part of providing the tool you asked for. Google may set cookies or similar technologies and process technical data under its own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy. A short notice appears on the design page when Maps loads.
If Maps cannot load, we may fall back to other imagery providers that do not require the same Google cookies.
Clarity processes technical data under Microsoft's policies. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
Who we share data with
- Our systems - enquiries are stored in our business systems (including Odoo / Lazaridis CRM) so our team can follow up
- Hosting and security providers - infrastructure that hosts the website and protects it from abuse
- Google - when you use the Maps-powered design tool, and for Ads conversion measurement as described above
- Microsoft - Clarity analytics and session replay as described above
- Cloudflare - if Turnstile bot protection is enabled on form submit
We only share what is needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep data
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for legitimate business records (for example quotation history and compliance). You can ask us to update or erase data where applicable - see your rights below.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to erase data in certain circumstances
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability, where applicable
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
Our website and services are aimed at adults making decisions about property and energy. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you should review the updated policy.
